Dinner Out

Not too often we are invited out to dinner.  But the one I had last night was delicious.  The food was a mixture of "When we were home" like Cornbread and Turnip Greens............then we had what I would call Chicken Catchatorie (fancy for chicken) with cheese and onion bits and it was great........and garlic potatoes.  We had choices of desserts...............Louellen always has some good  homemade desert dishes.  This time Apricot turnovers.  Those were good too.
Any way the food was great, but we had so much fun after we ate.....we played dominoes......but couldnt keep up with whose turn it was cause we got to talking about dating.............our dating days.  Louellen said she missed out on our dating years cause she was in California.  I said , Well rest assured that moma followed us to church and followed us back home...since we only had to walk a few steps to the church we went to.  It was either Grandma or moma walking with us, but CW use to tease me that Grandma was his girlfriend.  She just smiled and that was fun.  We did our dating on the front porch cause my mom was just sure she may have grandchildren by us sooner than she wanted.............and you know looking back she was probably right.  Cause I really loved that guy I was sitting so close to on the porch.  Any way we told old stories about momas choice names for my husband, boyfriend then.  He said that he came one Sunday morning when moma was fussing about him and he heard part of what was being said and decided to turn around and get off the porch and try that again making enough noise that she would hear him coming up on the porch.  Smart move!!
I told Louellen one of the names moma had for cw and she said See thats what you should write on the blog!!!   No No No

Mom just worried about what people would say about us and she wanted everything to be just right.  And it really was.  She was fair and you know she did know some stuff although I thought she didnt.

Louellen and Coy, Thanks for the dinner and the fun.  We need more of that.  Lots more.
